33. “Take My Yoke, It’s Not Too Heavy. You’ll Find Rest For Your Soul.” – Jesus

Matthew 11:29
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Walk in harmony with Jesus

That’s cool! I remember Jesus was a carpenter. Think of it! Jesus, God’s Son, here on earth, was a tradesman – a carpenter! He knew about the fashioning of yokes; how to judge the strength of each oxen, how to shape the yoke to lighten the load as they walked together.

“Take my yoke.” says Jesus. “I know the secret of how to lighten the burdens you carry through life. Heavy loads at times of anxiety, pain, sorrow, disappointment, and despair.” Many carry a burden of depression, and rejection; of guilt or abuse. On life’s journey, burdens decisions and responsibilities come to us all. Jesus, the Son of God, invites us to walk in harmony with him, to discover his secret of victorious living. I am so glad I accepted this invitation of Jesus. He not only lightens the load, but brings joy into the daily walk of life.

“You shall find rest for your souls.” Jesus, you are the greatest! Not just a physical easing of the burdens of life, but wearing your yoke, walking in harmony with you, brings rest to our souls? Yes, a deep inner peace that gives strength and joy. Now that’s a treasure worth seeking.

I accept your invitation, Jesus.
I believe your words are truth.
I confess my need of a strength greater than my own.
I dare to step out in faith with you.
Teach me, Jesus!
